splintered time

time isn’t what it seems to be
it’s there, it’s not there
it drives you
it owns you
it forgets you

time isn’t what it should be
it’s there to help you love
it exists to give you knowledge
it knows there is no end

time is a memory you can’t remember
it’s a glimpse of who you were
it reflects the things you regret
it’s a mirror of your life you can’t see

time takes no sides
it knows you aren’t important
it needs you to live
but
it exiles you even as you exist
